Well, we found out a lot of stuff today and thought that we would
go ahead and share some of the news! :)
First thing: Jenny went to the doctor today, and they said that
the ultrasound is pretty conclusive that she is going to have a little
baby girl! :) Jenny is really excited about the prospect of dresses
and long hair, but William and Michael didn't quite seem to grasp what
we were saying (they just went back to eating their dinner.) On a bit
more sober note, Jenny's blood test showed that this baby has a 1 in
120 chance of having down syndrome (compared with the normal ratio of
1 in 10,000) so she is going to she a specialist in a few days to see
if they can determine anything. We are, of course, hoping for a happy
healthy (quiet) baby, but we will be happy with whatever baby we are
blessed with. :)
Second thing: I was turned down for the PhD program at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne, but I have been accepted
to the PhD programs at the University of Georgia and the University of
Texas at Austin! :) So, we are waiting to hear back from
Pennsylvania State University and then we will make our final
decision, but chances are that we will prefer the programs in Texas
and Pennsylvania over the one in Georgia, so chances are that we will
be moving somewhere this summer.
Third thing: Michael turns 18 months this coming Sunday! (For
those of you who don't realize what this most significant of all ages
means, it means that during church he is old enough to be dropped off
instead of having to be watched by daddy!!) :)
