Today was a very good day!
When I got up this morning I was blessed with some inspiration on how to teach my Sunday School class this Sunday, after I've been praying and thinking about it all week.
Later this morning I had a very nice business breakfast for about an hour and a half with a very important person in the textbook industry who is very interested in my work. (And the food was good too!)
I made good progress with my newest game today. It will be an online, multiplayer grammar review game. I always feel great satisfaction when I finally overcome one of those programming obstacles that has been driving me crazy for several hours. (A couple days ago, after about 6 hours of frustration, I finally figured out that the problem was that I had typed "<" instead of "<=", go figure.)
Speaking of my games, when I was walking into the office today, several of the other instructors stopped me to thank me for the games I have created, and they told me that when their students ask how to review, they send them the links to my games. :-) It's always good to feel like the effort that I've been making is appreciated!
The biggest bonus of today happened when I went to administer the listening portion of the final exam to my class. They gave me a round of applause...before and after the exam! They also gave me a very nice thank-you card and some delicious cookies! I have never had a class do something like that for me before. It was very nice! This class has been a lot of fun this semester, because of the great group of students that I had!
It's so nice to be blessed by the Lord!
Very Cool Stuff Art!! It's nice to know we share some of the same genes, just not the ones that you have shared in your blog. ;op I was thinking about our computer programing class the other day, when I finally came to the realization that the reason I had such a hard time in the class was I could not understand how we were making the computer do stuff, when the whole point of the class wasn't how it all worked but what we needed to do in order to get it to do something. I was totally stuck on something completely irrelivent, like I thought we were supposed to write our own computer language or something.
ReplyDeleteA very positive blog and a very positive couple of days. Then you for sharing.
